What Not’s and Poetry

Sunrise

Shadows and hints of shapes unseen

Blackness full of flat and featureless unknowns

undefined stillness waiting in anticipation.

Misty tendrils waft through tangles of shapes,

grayness lifts sensuously in muted shades of non-color,

weaving ghostly patterns of opaqueness.

Vagueness rises in blues and pinks,

to brighten a pregnant silence

swatches of light and dark slowly banish the night.

A sparkle with-in a dew drop, is an inverse view to show,

reds, oranges and golden reflections – a range of hues splash the world.

Outlines, stark and strong, contrasts of remaining night,

shrink beneath the foliage rising to meet the dawn.

Brightness blinding.

An ocean of color and shape,

undulating and ever changing.

Reclaiming the landscape in shimmering brilliance.

Each dew’s drop a reflection to pay homage.

Each -day star – upon every leaf, proclaims…
